Waste Characterisation

Objectives

Screen available data on the CRM content of waste arising from the pre-processing of WEEE, batteries and ELVs and deposits of mining wastes.

Develop a procedure to select relevant waste and tailings CRM data to include in the database.

Identify existing sampling, sample preparation and chemical analysis methods for a set of "particularly interesting" wastes with respect to CRM content, and validate them, including data reliability assessment through statistical analysis.

Provide harmonised update and quality assessment protocols for CRM content in products and components.
