Daniel Cassard, French Geological Survey - BRGM

Daniel Cassard, PhD in structural geology from Nantes University, 1980. Started his career as exploration geologist in Saudi Arabia. Up to 1997, has been involved in structural studies both for scientific projects and for industrially based research projects related essentially to mining. Since 1997, involved in the development of continental-scale metallogenic and mining GISs and related databases. Presently Program Scientific Coordinator at the GeoResources Division.

- Ex-member of the INSPIRE Thematic Working Group 'Geology & Mineral Resources',

- Co-opted member of the IUGS/CGI, Interoperability Working Group, for the development of Earth Resource data model (ERML),

  • - Deputy chair of the Mineral Resources Expert Group of EuroGeoSurveys
